As the newly appointed President of The Dunes Arts Foundation, I’m proud to announce our 2017 Summer Theatre kick-off celebration. This summer’s celebration, A Splash of Red, coincides with our opening performance RED, a play by John Logan. Michigan City’s Mayor, Ron Meer, serves as Honorary Chair for this event’s steering committee.
Held on the evening of Saturday, June 3rd, Splash of RED participants will receive a ticket for the performance of RED, a 90 minute, no intermission play. Prior to the performance, beginning at 5:30 PM, A Splash of Red participants can enjoy live music, great food and adult beverages in our VIP tent. After the performance, Splash of RED participants can also participate in a live and silent auction of wonderful items, including large-scale abstract artworks from local artists, executed in the fashion of master abstract expressionist painter, Mark Rothko, upon whom the play is based.
Information specific to the Splash of Red special event can be found here on our website.
We continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes at The Dunes Summer Theatre in preparation of our upcoming 2017 Summer Season. This past weekend we conducted open auditions and were absolutely thrilled with all the talent we discovered in the region. If you missed these auditions and would still like to be considered, there’s still time. We will be conducting call backs and more open auditions on May 15, 2017 from 4-8PM at The Uptown Artists Lofts located on 717 Franklin St., Michigan City, IN 46360. To schedule your audition, call (219) 879-7509. You can also submit your headshot, resume and reel to email@example.com for consideration. Please put CASTING in your subject line.
It’s an exciting time for The Dunes Arts Foundation, and we hope you enjoy the many improvements underway as we strive to provide an enjoyable and comfortable experience to all our patrons.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
