The Dunes Summer Theatre is conducting Call Backs and more open auditions on May 15 from 4-8 PM. If this is your first audition with us this Summer Season, please bring your headshot and resume. We will be contacting entertainers who have already auditioned soon. To schedule your open audition, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also submit your headshot, resume and reel via email.
We have a terrific production line-up and I am truly excited to have already discovered great talent available to us onstage and off. To further these efforts, and in keeping with The Dunes legacy, I am actively reaching out to colleges and university theater programs, such as Columbia College, Roosevelt, and Purdue University to help identify additional young talent currently being trained in the theater arts. Likewise, I hope to bring in 3 production interns to help bolster our backstage running crews. These interns may reside in 3 of our residential cabins on the theater's grounds, which are also receiving a sprucing up! So, if you know anyone…please send them our way!
We are in need of male and female singers, actors, stage managers, production crew members, set and costume designers. Open auditions and Call Backs will be conducted on May 15 from 4-8PM at the Uptown Artists’ Lofts located on 717 Franklin Street. To schedule an open audition, please email email@example.com, or call us at (219) 879-7509. Please know, that while we are definitely looking for cast for our upcoming season, we want to see all talent in the region for our future productions. So even if you don't think you're right for a particular play this season, please submit your information anyway as we grow our database of talent.
Want to get involved off stage? You can! We need help with our annual spring clean up day on Saturday, April 22, or you can serve on one of our committees. We also have opportunities for high school students who need to fulfill volunteer time for the Promise Scholarship program.
As The Dunes Summer Theatre Artistic Director and a board member, it has been very exciting for me to embrace our mandate of this season: Safety, Comfort, Quality. This mandate helps drive every effort at an organizational level, as well as artistically. Being put into place (as I type) are new electrics, a new lighting system, and new heating and air conditioning. Lots of activity is happening at The Dunes Summer Theatre and it’s all motivated by a concentrated effort to create an enjoyable, comfortable experience for every audience member.
For those of you who have joined us in the past, I think you'll be quite pleased with the new energy you'll find this summer and I invite you to re-discover The Dunes Summer Theatre. For those of you who have never attended a production in the past, I'm thrilled to welcome you to the theatre.
On behalf of everyone on the board and all our supporters, we look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
