Thank you to the many Dunes Arts Foundation and Summer Theatre friends for joining us at our February 11th special event. We thank you for your support. It was a great evening of music, cocktails, and news about the progress we are making. I was overwhelmed by the turnout and it was great fun seeing old friends and making new ones, in the beautiful surroundings of the Speakeasy at the Spa in Porter, Indiana.
If you weren’t able to join us, we missed you! Artistic Director Jeffrey Baumgartner announced our exciting 2017 Summer Theatre shows and schedule; Nora Ryszka shared updates to our Summer Youth programs; while I shared news about upcoming facility improvements which includes brand new air conditioning!
After we shared our exciting news, I was thrilled to kick off the night's entertainment with "Ladies Who Lunch", a booze-filled song from our upcoming summer musical, Stephen Sondheim's, Company; followed by Jacob West' rousing rendition of "Being Alive". Next, the talented Nicole Cready joined Jacob as they sang "Barcelona" also from Company. A big thanks to our piano accompanist, Jeff Otto.
I said it that night, and it bears repeating — the Dunes can only succeed with your support. Whether it is becoming a Season Ticket holder, buying a ticket to see a show, becoming a DAF member, volunteering to be part of our summer productions' Welcoming Committee, pushing a broom or hammering a nail at our annual spring clean up — our success depends upon your support. If you would like to volunteer, please visit our Support page now.
And, please continue to watch this space as we bring you DAF updates and upcoming audition announcements. It promises to be a busy and exciting summer starting now and you don't want to miss out.
Thanks again for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
